Headstones & Memorials
Creating a memorial for a loved one is a very personal process and at Stone Man we refuse to offer a mass produced approach. Every headstone or tablet is either made or ordered to specification. We are able to guide you through the process step by step if required, from cemetery or church regulations, to the choice of stone material and lettering types and/or fonts. Some cemeteries do have set memorial designs and we can work with you to create a bespoke design to personalise. Our headstones are all fitted to the standards required by local authority cemeteries or parish councils. It is important to note that at Stone Man, we do work independently from funeral directors.
Renovations
Stone Man welcomes the opportunity to renovate existing memorials and with stunning effects. The normal process is to visit the memorial to view its current state and advise on works required to renovate. Sometimes, it is possible to do a full renovation in-situ, including lead lettering repairs/re-gilding or repainting inscriptions or adding additional inscriptions. Occasionally though it is necessary to remove the memorial to complete the works say for new foundations or low level inscriptions. This is still usually a much cheaper approach then replacing a complete memorial.
